The coordination platform called PACIFICO, made up of four environmental funds in Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia, was officially constituted as a foundation on 25 January 2017.

The representatives of the Forever Costa Rica Association (Costa Rica), Fundación Natura (Panamá), Fondo Acción (Colombia) and Patrimonio Natural (Colombia) signed the Constitutive Act  in Bogotá to legally create the Pacifico Foundation.

PACIFICO seeks to mobilize financial resources, manage them and increase an endowment fund in order to facilitate resources and financing to implement actions for conservation of marine-coastal resources in the Tropical Eastern Pacific (TEP).

The work it does

• Regional action to reduce key threats and strengthen the protection of our shared coastal-marine resources.
• Finance conservation actions around a shared set of priorities.
• Fill gaps in scientific data and share information with greater facility to optimize protection efforts.
• Bring together different interest groups to improve efforts for marine and coastal conservation.
