Objective

To contribute to a more efficient and harmonious management of marine biodiversity in the Eastern Tropical Central Pacific.

Expected results: 

• National and regional coordination among environmental, fisheries, and enforcement authorities is strengthened, facilitating the adoption of informed actions for biodiversity conservation.
• PACÍFICO is consolidated as a permanent and sustainable financial mechanism for biodiversity conservation in the Eastern Tropical Central Pacific.
• Blue Economy pilot initiatives receive support to transition toward greener, more sustainable, efficient, and socially equitable practices.

Targets 

• At least 4 new action recommendations, derived from annual regional reports, are formally adopted by national authorities.
• An additional 2.5 million euros are mobilized through PACÍFICO.
• At least 4 Blue Economy pilot initiatives are supported, 50% of which are either led by women or directly benefit women.

Duration: 5 years  

FFEM contribution: 2,56 million euros.
